Making an impact through student organizations

Student Interest Groups (SIGs) are a vital part of the Evans School community, and host social and academic events for their fellow Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management students. A list of Evans School student organizations, as well as student leadership opportunities at  the University of Washington, can be found below. For more information about Student Interest Groups, contact the Admissions Office at evansadm@uw.edu.

Our Student Interest Groups include:

The Evans School Student Organization (ESO)

The Evans School Student Organization (ESO) serves as the liaison between the Evans School student body and the faculty and administration. ESO places students on most faculty committees and plays a key role in developing curriculum, hiring faculty members, shaping academic policies, evaluating courses and professors, and setting degree requirements.

Evans Coalition for Housing Outreach (ECHO)

Evans Coalition for Housing Outreach is a collective of students that understand housing insecurity is less about ‘visible homelessness’ and more about varied circumstances that create economic injustice in an individual’s life. We aim to reduce stigma, boost networks, and cultivate solutions by creating peer education opportunities, connecting future leaders with active community-led strategies to address economic injustices, and cultivating resources for Evans students experiencing or at-risk of housing insecurity.

Evans Network of Women (Now)

The mission of Evans NOW is to create community for womxn and those who do not identify within the gender binary and develop a network of leaders and mentors within the field of public policy and service.

Evans People of Color (E-POC)

Evans People of Color aims to center the voice of students of color in the Evans School in order to create a more equitable environment.

Evans School International Students Association

The Evans International Students Association (EISA) provides community and professional support to the international student community at Evans, creating a space for their voices to be heard, celebrated and shared with wider student community at Evans and UW.
