Ideas for Action Award

Making Prosperity Possible for All

The Ideas for Action Award is a competition to develop and promote new thinking and policies to reduce poverty long term. Sponsored by the Northwest Area Foundation and co-administered by the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, this contest seeks to shine a light on practical and fundamental policy shifts to help low-income people build the futures they want for themselves and their families. The ideas generated through this competition aim to improve the practice of fighting poverty in America and in the Northwest Area by lifting up imaginative approaches, creative ideas for new directions, and a fresh look at existing initiatives that may not have been brought to scale.
