Evans School doctoral student, Emmi Obara, has been selected to receive a 2017 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship.

Obara’s research will be looking into prison and criminal justice policies using 15 years of data from the Bureau of Justice Statistic’s National Corrections Reporting Program data. Obara will be examining trends of repeated releases and recidivism in the light of changes to sentencing policy. Professor Scott Allard is the advisor on this project.
