“My experience at the Evans School is something I actually reflect on quite a bit. Without question the Evans School has helped me tremendously. My degree has opened doors, especially in the City of Seattle and the State of Washington.”
-Abel Pacheco (MPA ’12)
Pacheco is a native of Venice Beach, Calif., and a graduate of California State University, Northridge. He maintains a busy schedule as communications and program specialist with the Seattle Police Foundation and a political science instructor at North Seattle Community College and Seattle Central Community College.
“Dorothy Bullitt’s leadership course has been tremendously helpful to me in better understanding situations and challenges I encounter in my positions, and how to best resolve them, especially when you’re dealing with people,” said Pacheco.
Pacheco credits Bullitt’s class which featured different lecturers with providing tremendous insight for students. “They achieved success with different styles and skill sets. If you better understand yourself, you can understand how to leverage your personal capabilities leading to success in tough situations,” said Pacheco. “The Evans School helped me better understand who I am, and I would strongly recommend the program to anyone who is considering a career in public service.”
