Kenyan Fellows Dine with Chris Elias
Chris Elias took advantage of his August trip to Kenya to meet with the IPPHL Kenyan alumni and current fellows over a very informal dinner and conversation. In attendance were Cohort #1 alumni; Joanne, Elizabeth, and Joyce as well as Cohort #2 fellows; Lucy, Maureen, and Wesley. They discussed a wide range of topics both related and not at all related to work. The fellows described to Chris what they got out of the program and how they are applying what they learned. The fellows expressed some skepticism at first about the professional coaching provided by the program but all agreed that both the coaching and the 360 evaluation were surprising highlights of the program. The fellows reflected with Chris on the value of getting feedback from colleagues and doing the work to understand what it means and how to use it to increase their effectiveness as leaders.
Chris had just flown in from Dakar that morning and meeting with the IPPHL fellows and alumni was a great way to kick off his visit to Kenya; making it one of the highlights of his trip.
