Husky Giving Day 2023

April 6

“I believe the Evans Critical Need Fund was our cohort’s most valuable contribution to the Evans community. In spring of 2019, one of our class fellows lost all of her belongings in a fire. Together as a community, we saw one of our own go from stability to crisis and vulnerability. We came together to fundraise and were able to rehabilitate our friend but it brought to light a gap and a necessity. The Evans Critical Need Fund was then created to support any Evans student who may find themselves in a position of financial insecurity. We hoped that the Fund would help students get back on their feet.”

Nida Haroon, MPA ’19

Partner with the Evans School community on Husky Giving Day and support future leaders through the Evans School Critical Need Fund.

Every year, students, especially those with marginalized identities, face challenges due to systemic inequities and unforeseen emergencies. Your gift to the Evans School Critical Need Fund will provide direct funding to Evans students in need of immediate financial assistance. Your support will help students address needs such as housing and food insecurity, health care expenses, car repairs, travel for emergencies, and the replacement of stolen belongings.

With your support on Husky Giving Day, we hope to raise $24,000 to ensure direct support for Evans students facing critical needs that threaten their academic progress. This will help make a difference for over 40 students in an academic year.

Here are the ways you can partner on Husky Giving Day:

  • Make a donation through the Evans School or UW portals on April 6.
  • Sign up to become a Husky Giving Day Champion – commit to making a gift and spreading the word with your circle to join you in supporting students at Evans
  • Offer a challenge or matching gift to amplify your impact and inspire others to donate on HGD

Together we can play an important role in helping students reach their full academic potential and become our next generation of civic leaders.
