Graduating students must arrive by 12 Noon, attired in cap and gown.
The Evans School Convocation Ceremony (also known as Graduation) celebrates the 2019 class of graduating students receiving MPA, Executive MPA, and Ph.D. degrees. The ceremony will run until about 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception with light refreshments.

Q: Are tickets required?
A: Neither guests nor graduates need tickets. Graduates are welcome to invite as many guests as they would like.
Q: Are there any restrictions on what I can bring into the facility?
A: Alcohol is not allowed. Any items deemed by University of Washington staff to be inappropriate or possibly disruptive of other guests' enjoyment are prohibited. All bags and purses will be inspected upon entry to Alaska Airlines Arena. Packages need to be unwrapped or wrapped in such a way that the contents inside can be seen.
Q: Will accommodations be provided for person with disabilities?
A: The Evans School Convocation Ceremony Registration Form will have a space for graduating students to request disability accommodations in Alaska Airlines Arena for themselves and/or their guests. The facility is accessible and includes seating areas for persons using wheelchairs or walkers. Assisted Listening Devices (ALD's) will be available. Q: What time should I arrive at convocation?
A: Graduating students must arrive by 12 Noon to the Southeast corner of Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion wearing their cap and gown. Guests are welcome to enter starting at 12 Noon.
Q: Where can I park?
A: Graduates can order parking permits through the UW Commencement Office's Registration/Order Form, which is open from May 8-26. See the UW Commencement website for more information about parking.
Q: Will there be a photographer at the event?
A: Yes, we have made arrangements with GradImages to have photographers take individual photos of graduates. These photos will be available for purchase after the ceremony. To place orders, ask questions, or speak to customer service, visit the GradImages website.
Q: Will there be food and beverages?
A: We will provide water bottles for all graduates during the ceremony, and water will be available for guests as well. During the reception from 2:30-3:30, dessert and punch will be served.
Q: What other graduation-related events are happening?
A: Graduates and their guests are welcome to attend the UW Commencement on Saturday, June 15, 2019. See the UW Commencement website for details. Evans People of Color is hosting a celebration for graduating students of color on June 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There are also Community Graduation Ceremonies including Filipino Graduation, Lavender Graduation, La Raza Graduation, Pasifik Graduation, Raven's Feast, and Black Graduation. Students who have been involved in the Foundation for International Understand Through Students may wish to attend the FIUTS Graduation Celebration. On June 12 (the day of the Evans School Convocation Ceremony) from 6-8 pm in Sylvan Grove, the University of Washington Alumni Association (UWAA) will be hosting a champagne toast for all graduating students. There will be drinks, appetizers, a DJ, and yard games for a great welcome to the Alumni Community! Grads who have joined the UWAA will also receive a free commemorative champagne flute. The event is free, but they request RSVPs.
