Eatonville, WA

Bio: I grew up in a small town called Eatonville where Mt. Rainier National Park was basically my backyard. After graduating from high school, I attended UW for undergrad where I double majored in English and Political Science, and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority on campus. During my senior year I participated in the Washington State Legislative Internship program, and continued after school for three years in a variety of nonpartisan positions. Currently I am the Policy Director for the Graduate & Professional Student Senate at UW, and planning an internship with Senate Committee Services in Olympia.

Why did you choose Evans?: Evans was the best fit for me because it combines the best parts of an MPA and an MPP program. One of my goals is to eventually run for public office, so I was looking for a school that would incorporate policy analysis, public budgeting, and both leadership and management strategy. Since starting the program last fall, the professors, and my fellow cohort, have helped me to learn and grow in each of these aspects.
