Shane Johnston started the Evans School Ph.D. program in Public Policy and Management in 2012. Prior to joining the program, he worked as a Laboratory and Field Assistant for the Central Plains Center for BioAssessment. He also held positions as the Public Affairs Intern for CORO Kansas City, implementing a week-long community health initiative, and as a Governor’s Office Intern for the Kansas Division of Water Resources, conducting research on the economic value of water. Shane earned a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Financial Management and Survey Research Methods from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Kansas. Shane’s research interests include environmental policy, water policy, and natural resource economics.
