Bio: I grew up in San Diego and studied history and political science at University of California, Davis for undergraduate. During school, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and enjoyed experiencing another culture and living abroad. I spent several years after school working in insurance and human resources before deciding to go back to school to pursue a field I was passionate about. I came to the Evans School to combine my fascination with international affairs with my desire to help other people and am focusing my MPA on international development. When I’m not busy with schoolwork or traveling, I enjoy yoga, knitting, and baking.
Why did you choose Evans?: I chose the Evans School because of the community—when I came and visited the Evans School, I sensed a strong sense of community among the staff, students, and faculty. More importantly, I felt that it was a community I could be a part of. Apart from that, I liked that the core curriculum is a mix of soft (management) and hard (quantitative and economic) skills, because I think I’ll need both to be successful in this field.
