Vedavati Patwardhan started the Evans School Ph.D. program in Public Policy and Management in 2016. Prior to joining the program, she worked with Springer Nature as a project manager for German language publications. Vedavati earned a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she evaluated safe drinking water provision systems in rural India. Vedavati also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Fergusson College, University of Pune, India. Vedavati is interested in the linkages between intrahousehold bargaining and food security in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
