Vedavati Patwardhan started the Evans School Ph.D. program in Public Policy and Management in 2016. Prior to joining the program, she worked with Springer Nature as a project manager for German language publications. Vedavati earned a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she evaluated safe drinking water provision systems in rural India. Vedavati also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Fergusson College, University of Pune, India. Vedavati is interested in the linkages between women's political participation, social safety nets and household food security in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
