Hometown: Toronto, Canada
Focus: Environmental Policy and Management; Nonprofit Management
Bio: Hi, Elizabeth here! I was born in Shanghai, China and moved to Toronto, Canada with my family, when I was one year old. I studied Environment and Business at the University of Waterloo where I took both environmental studies and business courses. I have worked at a variety of different companies in both the public and private sector. However, the key take away was that most businesses only want to do what’s good for the bottom line, and environmental initiatives had to contribute to improving it in order to move forward. I realized that that’s not where my passions lie. Naturally, I am focusing my MPA on the Environmental Policy and Management track. After graduating, I plan to work in the US until I feel homesick enough to move back to Toronto. My favourite things to do in Seattle include: Hiking, exploring coffee shops, and eating greek yogurt from Ellenos @ Pike Place Market.
Why did you choose Evans? Throughout the application process, the admissions staff was so kind and welcoming, I could feel that there was a real sense of community here. The Evans School is also highly ranked!
Ask me about: Canada! I’ll take any excuse to talk about Canada. Also, I would love to chat about things to do in Seattle.
