Xi’an, China

Bio: Hi there! My name is Meredith Wang, a concurrent MPA student. I grew up in an ancient city in the middle of China which has been the capital of thirteen dynasties in history with tons of cultural heritages. I did my undergrad at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management in labor economics and social policy. I also did a study abroad program at University of New South Wales in Sydney and focused on finance and art there. Through internships, I’ve grown interests in international development, strategic consulting, venture capital investment and data-based decision-making. I love puzzles and outdoor fun, so, a pretty complicated (yet friendly) self here☺

Why did you choose evans?: What drove me to come to Evans is a multitude of reasons. The ranking and rigorous academic design of the program is promising, especially when you get to know the professors and the serious work they did here. And the location in Seattle, an urban and open city, is what I believe best for a graduate/professional student. What’s unique about Evans and broadly speaking about UW is that the community here is friendly and supportive, with an emphasis on inclusion, equity and exceeding progress. Being here for one year, I could see that Evans endeavors to fulfill the potential of its students and continues to advance as a better community. Feel free to contact me if I can be of help in any way!
