Nearly all Evans School MPA students will complete their capstone project through the Winter and Spring Quarter PUBPOL 608: Capstone Seminars.
In very rare cases, the Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) may approve exceptions, in which case a student may complete an 8-credit PUBPOL 605: Independent Capstone Project with a faculty member willing to supervise such a project outside of a Capstone Seminar.
Students who believe they have an extraordinary situation that merits consideration for a rare exception must complete this form.
If the GPC approves a student's request for a capstone exception, the student is repsonsible for identifying a faculty member willing to serve as the independent capstone advisor.
If the GPC does not approve a student's request for a capstone exception, the student must register for a PUBPOL 608: Capstone Project Seminar and complete a team-based capstone project, in both Winter and Spring Quarter, to fulfill the capstone project requirement.
