Prerequisite: PUBPOL 516 and 517, or permission of instructor.
Explores the use of benefit-cost techniques for analyzing policy, regulatory, and public investment decisions. Topics to include discounting, estimating demand in primary and secondary markets, risk and uncertainty, and nonmarket valuation. This widely-used applied economics tool will be mastered through lecture, applied problem-solving and a benefit-cost analysis project.
