Evans School Student Experience

Student experience is at the heart of all we do.

The Evans School’s diverse student population makes it hard to describe the typical student and even harder to describe the quintessential Evans School student experience. Students come from all over the country and the world; from cities, suburbs, small towns and farms; from public, private and parochial schools; from varied ethnic and religious background; and from across the economic spectrum.

At the Evans School and the larger University of Washington, diversity is integral to excellence. We value and honor diverse experiences and perspectives, strive to create welcoming and respectful learning environments, and promote access, opportunity and justice for all.

We strive to create a welcoming and respectful learning community that is defined by a commitment to service and support. Our alumni serve our current students as mentors and professional connections. Our faculty and staff serve our current students by providing guidance and resources critical to their success. Our students serve each other in building and maintaining our community. Our student services staff closely tracks the progress of each MPA cohort and a recent analysis (entering cohort of 2017) showed that 88% of the entering class of 196 successfully completed the MPA degree in 2 years or less. 96% of the entering class of 196 successfully completed the MPA degree in 4 years or less.
