Tell us a little about yourself?
David is pursuing a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Washington. Previously to transferring to UW, he developed a strong interest in liberal education while at Grinnell College. David is a Research Associate at foundry10, an education research and philanthropy organization. He serves on the Alumni Advisory Council for build4good, a tech-for-good initiative run by New America. In his free time, David enjoys blogging, evening swims, and reading and writing short stories.
What is your dream job? What kind of impact do you hope to make?
An author and writer who teaches part-time courses for a community college and for gifted youth. I would be an instructor and an advisor/counselor. I wish to inspire and influence students at the critical time of their lives and offer them guidance on living in the world. I feel fortunate for the mentors I’ve had in my life and wish to offer a similar role.
Who is your favorite public servant and why?
Abe Lincoln; I admire his eloquence, great conviction in the Union and in America, and most especially his character. “I want to listen to thoughts on the soul and spirit of America
