My name is Chantel Chestnutt, and I am a junior at North Carolina Central University, where I am double-majoring in Political Science and History Education. I am also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and serve as my chapter’s Social Action chair. In the future, I plan to earn my master’s in public policy and work in education policy.
What is your dream job? What kind of impact do you hope to make?
My dream job is to work with the Federal government in the area of educational policy, even if it’s as a politician.
Who is your favorite public servant and why?
My favorite public servant is Shirley Chisholm. As the first Black woman elected to the United States Congress she broke boundaries and opened doors.
