Colleen K. Chrisinger graduated from the Evans School Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management program in 2010. Her research interests included issues of the low-wage labor market, income support policy, and poverty and inequality.
“I chose the doctoral program at the Evans School because of its rigorous training in theoretical and empirical research, focus on immediately pressing social problems, and wealth of interdisciplinary resources and connections,” said Chrisinger. “The outstanding faculty members and research centers at the Evans School provided limitless support for me to recognize and nurture research opportunities at the intersections of many different bodies of scholarship. Both the Evans School and the University of Washington are places of tremendous intellectual creativity and curiosity. It was a joy for me to witness this creativity among my fellow students and researchers—and to contribute to it.”
Prior to starting her doctoral studies at the Evans School, Chrisinger worked as a Caseload Forecast Analyst with the Oregon Department of Human Services from 2001–2002.
Chrisinger holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Social Research Methods in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BS in Mathematics from Willamette University.
