Travel Logistics
Welcome to Seattle! Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, we’re excited to have you here. Below are some travel instructions to help you get from Downtown Seattle to Parrington Hall at the University of Washington with additional information for those of you who will be continuing on to the Seabeck Conference Center Sunday afternoon.
If you’re staying at the APPAM Conference Hotel (Hyatt Regency Seattle), you have two great options to reach Parrington Hall. Driving takes about 15–25 minutes depending on traffic. Start by heading north on Boren Avenue, then turn right onto Olive Way, which becomes Eastlake Avenue East. Cross the University Bridge, turn right onto NE Campus Parkway, then left onto 15th Avenue NE. Turn right onto NE 40th Street, left onto 6th Avenue NE, and finally right onto NE 42nd Street. Parrington Hall will be on your left. You can use navigation tools like Google Maps or MapQuest for real-time directions.
Alternatively, the Link Light Rail is a convenient and affordable option. Walk about 5–10 minutes to Westlake Station and board the 1 Line heading northbound toward Northgate. Ride for five stops and exit at University District Station (Not the University of Washington Station). From there, it’s a quick 5-10 minute walk northwest across campus to Parrington Hall.
Helpful resources include the Sound Transit Trip Planner, Link Light Rail Stations.
To find your way around campus, check out the Interactive UW Campus Map or the Printable Campus Map.
For those of you traveling on to Seabeck for the second half of the workshop we will be taking the Link Light Rail from University District Station heading southbound. From the Pioneer Square Station, it is just a quick 5-minute walk to the Seattle Ferry Terminal (Colman Dock) at 801 Alaskan Way, Pier 52. From Colman Dock, we will board the Seattle to Bremerton Ferry for a 60- minute ride across beautiful Puget Sound.
Once in Bremerton we will board a shuttle that will take us the rest of the way to Seabeck. The Seabeck Conference Center is located at 13395 Seabeck Highway NW, Seabeck, WA 98380.
