Name: Christian Belcher
Pronouns: He/him
Year Graduated: 2021
Hello! My name is Christian. I graduated from the Evans MPA program in 2021. Before attending the Evans School, I received a BA in Political Economy from Georgetown University, hiked the Appalachian Trail, roasted coffee in Jackson Hole, and did a year of service through AmeriCorps.
As an Evans MPA student, I concentrated in policy analysis and program evaluation. The coursework empowered me to become a better producer, user, and consumer of data, quantitative and qualitative alike. I learned how to create more effective data visualizations and write incisive memos and reports. Thanks to these newly honed skills and a few postings on the Evans Job Board, I was able to secure part-time work in research and legislative affairs to supplement my studies. The program also introduced me to some of my closest friends, incredible professors, and a robust network of alumni.
Since graduating from the Evans School, I moved to Denver, Colorado, and joined the Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab as a staff researcher. Each day, I use what I learned as an MPA student to help partner organizations gauge program impact and engage in evidence-based decision making. In the fall of 2023, I started pursuing a PhD in Research Methods & Statistics at the University of Denver.
