Pronouns: She/Her
Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Bio: Hi! My name is Josie Jackson. I am a current second year student at Evans. I’ve spent my last year in Seattle working on local elections and the county council. However, my heart will always be with social policy and advocacy. I grew up in the country on my family racehorse farm. I attended Grand Valley State University where I got degrees in Political Science, Legal Studies, and African American studies. I’ve worked in non-profit organizations especially in voting registration, student debt relief, and legal help non-profit centers.
Why I chose Evans: I chose Evans because of its Anti-Racist lens and small connected community. I found my home on the Evans Student Organization (ESO) where I am now the Vice President of Students.
