Bio: After spending her early years in New Zealand and high school in Montana, Shannon moved to Maine for undergrad at Bowdoin College, where she studied political philosophy and French. She stayed in Maine after college, appreciating the wonderful community in the small town of Belfast while managing a food access program at a nonprofit. She also joined the board of her local food co-op. She was drawn to grad school to dedicate a few years solely to learning and thinking big-picture and focused on social policy analysis and voting reforms while at Evans. Since school, she has worked on national advocacy campaigns through a large philanthropic organization. She also loves living in the Seattle area, where she hikes, climbs, occasionally swims in the lake, creates numerous cooking projects, and swing dances.
Shannon currently works as a Researcher for the Democracy + Elections program at Sightline Institute, a regional public policy think tank.
