Christian R. Diaz

Christian has dedicated his career to public service and currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. In this role, he leads the Finance and HR teams.

Christian has extensive experience in government, having previously served as the Chief Finance and Operating Officer for the King County Department of Community and Human Services, where he oversaw the department’s financial operations. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Commissioner for Finance, Administration, and Services at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness. There, he managed budgets, operations, and health insurance enrollment, expanded programs to address health inequities, and supported community-based investments. During the pandemic, he played a pivotal role in NYC’s emergency response by overseeing vaccine clinics and developing resource management strategies to address COVID-19 health disparities.

Earlier in his career, Christian was the Director of Finance and Administration at the Seattle Department of Transportation, where he managed complex budgets and influenced equitable infrastructure investments. He has also held key roles in New York City government, including Executive Director of Finance at NYC Health + Hospitals Correctional Health Services and Budget Director for the Division of Health Care Access and Improvement at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Lauren Domino

Lauren Domino (BA ’05, MPA ’11) serves as the Evans School’s Assistant Dean for Advancement & External Relations, overseeing the school’s marketing and communications, fund development, alumni engagement, and external partnerships work.

After receiving a B.A. in Drama from the University of Washington, Lauren worked professionally as a teaching artist for numerous organizations including Seattle Children’s Theatre, Youth Theatre Northwest, the Seattle REP, and Arts Corps. She went on to serve as the Education Director for Jet City Improv, overseeing corporate training, adult continuing education, and youth development programs. While there, she expanded improv education programming to historically marginalized youth, launching a partnership with the King County Juvenile Detention Facility that became one of their longest running programs.

Lauren returned to UW to earn a Master of Public Administration at the Evans School with a focus in nonprofit management. Following this, she moved into philanthropy, discovering a love for connecting donors’ values and interests with needs in the community. She served as the Development Director for ArtsWest and Seattle Shakespeare Company before stepping into the foundation space. Lauren spent seven years at Seattle Foundation, one of the nation’s largest community foundations with total assets of $1 billion. As the Foundation’s Managing Director of Fundraising & Philanthropic Services, she led a team of Philanthropic Advisors, guiding corporations, individuals and multigenerational families in effective and community-centered philanthropic strategies.

Lauren’s volunteer work has included serving as the founding Board President of Rain City Rock Camp for Girls, a National Delegate for the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, Board Treasurer for ArtsEd Washington, and Trustee of Seattle Rotary Service Foundation. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, baking, Lego-building, and exploring the PNW as a family.
